Covering a rolling 12-month period and tracked weekly, this dataset helps automotive professionals, dealers, and analysts easily see the interplay of market forces on car buying in America and leverage real-time trends before they show up in government reports.


The inventory dataset contains all U.S.-based new franchise auto dealerships; independent stores are not included. The demand dataset is built from a cross-section of ~10% of U.S. new franchise dealers across all major brands.

  • What is the source of this data?

    The data in this dashboard combines multiple data sources to derive insights: the inventory dataset and industry benchmark dataset.

    To produce the inventory dataset (inventory levels, pricing, and discount data), Foureyes collects data from over 20,000 new car franchise dealer websites once daily. We then apply normalization and hygiene, including the removal of dealer trades, recalls, and cross-listed duplicate vehicles. Historical data and internal VIN analysis is completed to produce the dataset.

    To produce the industry benchmarks (leads, VPD views, sales), Foureyes collects Foureyes lead and sales data via dealer-authorized integrations with their websites and CRMs. We then apply normalization and anonymization to create industry benchmarks and 12-month trend data. Filters are only available to levels that maintain statistically valid sample sizes.

    Yes. This dashboard includes new and used car data from franchise dealers in the United States. The data does not include non-franchise dealers or online-only retailers.
